Serving Chatham-Kent Since 1896

Carscallen Reinhart Mathany Maslak Anderson has been serving the communities of Chatham-Kent and Southwestern Ontario for over 110 years.

The firm was founded in 1896 by A.B. Carscallen in Wallaceburg, ON. Mr. Carscellen’s son Roland A. Carscallen joined the firm in 1936, and continued to practice law until November 28, 1957 when he was called to the Bench as a County Court judge for the County of Lambton and local judge of the Supreme Court of Ontario.

Continuing the family tradition, Charlton A. Carscallen Q.C., the son of Roland A. Carscallen, was called to the Bar in 1957, having won the Gold Medal at Osgoode Hall as the top Ontario graduate in Law. Charlton returned to Wallaceburg to practice law with his father in 1957, just six (6) months prior to his father’s appointment to the Bench.

Charlton A. Carscallen Q.C. was joined by John Mathany in 1974, and he was admitted to the partnership in 1976. The firm expanded to Chatham, ON in 1980 and David J. Reinhart joined the firm and was admitted to the partnership that same year.

David A. Maslak joined the firm in 1993 and was admitted to the partnership in 1999. Most recently, Lindsey A. Anderson was admitted to the partnership in 2014 and joined the firm as an associate in 2007.

The firm currently employs ten (10) legal support staff and has offices in both Chatham and Wallaceburg, with David J. Reinhart and David A. Maslak being the resident solicitors for the Chatham office and John E. Mathany and Lindsey A. Anderson being the resident solicitors for the Wallaceburg office.

The longevity of the firm is a testament to the loyalty of our clients and their faith in the advice, counsel and representation provided to them over 110 years.
